Sussex Wildlife Trust – Office Fit Out

Faction Interiors partnered with Sussex Wildlife Trust, a leading environmental charity dedicated to protecting the natural world, to deliver a workspace that reflects the organisation’s values of sustainability, collaboration, and community.

The project involved transforming The Keep into a modern, flexible office environment that supports a variety of working styles and provides a welcoming hub for staff, visitors, and volunteers. The result is a vibrant, functional space that celebrates nature and enhances the Trust’s day-to-day operations.

We delivered a comprehensive fit out including five meeting spaces, a flexible welcome area for events and informal gatherings, and an open-plan office complete with three bespoke single-person call pods, a new kitchen, quiet working zone, and entrance space. Each element was designed to maximise usability and align with the Trust’s sustainable ethos.

Design Highlights

• Playful, brand-led colour palette: Inspired by the natural world, the design incorporates uplifting colours that reflect the Sussex Wildlife Trust’s identity and create a positive, energetic atmosphere.

• Sustainable materials and minimal waste: Natural finishes and environmentally conscious materials were prioritised. Laminated birch plywood was used for desking, and almost all off-cuts were repurposed for internal shelving.

• Inclusive, adaptable work environments: The space supports diverse working styles with high tables, soft seating, quiet zones, and collaboration spaces — balancing productivity with comfort.

• Bespoke, functional joinery: A custom-built banquette, constructed from sustainable materials, provides both seating and smart storage solutions.

• Future-ready infrastructure: A new comms room was formed to ensure robust digital connectivity and operational efficiency.

The completed fit out provides the Sussex Wildlife Trust team with a versatile, inspiring workplace that not only supports their mission but embodies it — combining thoughtful design, sustainable practices, and a strong connection to nature.
